‘The Long Walk’ Actors Charlie Plummer & Garrett Wareing Share Behind-the-Scenes Photos

The Long Walk cast members Charlie Plummer and Garrett Wareing have shared a gallery of behind-the-scenes photos they shot during the production.

Based on the first novel Stephen King ever wrote, the film marches into theaters tomorrow, September 12, from Lionsgate.

In a dystopian United States ruled by a totalitarian regime, 50 young men enter an annual walking contest in which they must maintain a speed of at least three miles per hour or risk execution. The contest ends when only one walker remains alive.

Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) directs from a script by JT Mollner (Strange Darling).

In addition to Plummer and Wareing, the cast includes Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Tut Nyout, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill.

Lawrence produces with Roy Lee (IT, Doctor Sleep), Steven Schneider (Insidious, Paranormal Activity), and Cameron MacConomy (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes).

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Despite an unwavering eye on the dour and ruthless death march and all its grotesqueries, it’s the pervading camaraderie and heart, as well as a tremendous cast, that solidifies this as one of the best King adaptations yet.

AEW Superstar Maxwell ‘MJF’ Friedman Joins the Cast of ‘Violent Night 2’

Director Tommy Wirkola is back to direct sequel Violent Night 2, and Deadline reports this afternoon that AEW wrestler Maxwell “MJF” Friedman has joined the cast.

Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor has also joined a cast that includes Joe Pantoliano, Jared HarrisDaniela Melchior and Kristen Bell, as well as David Harbour as Santa Claus.

87North and Universal will release Violent Night 2 in theaters December 4, 2026. Pat Casey and Josh Miller are back to write the film, which promises more bloody mayhem.

“There’s stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs. Claus, the elves,“ Tommy Wirkola noted last year. “But story-wise, I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope but still keeping that tone that we love from the first one.”

In 2022’s Violent Night, “A team of elite mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage. But the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.”

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review for BD, “Director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) infuses his gore-soaked sense of humor into an amalgamation of familiar holiday fare, ushering a new crowd-pleasing Christmas-set actioner eager to splatter the snow red.”

Violent Night 2 filming soon?

The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Full Slate of Programming

The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival (BHFF) has unveiled the full program for its 2025 edition, running 10 days this year in celebration of their 10-year anniversary.

The festival will run from October 16-25, with all screenings held at Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg.

Here are the full details, from the press release:

The Opening Night film is Tina Romero’s award-winning, Brooklyn-set horror-comedy QUEENS OF THE DEAD. The 2025 festival boasts the world premieres of Adam MacDonald’s zombie feature THIS IS NOT A TEST and Connor Marsden’s bloodsoaked thriller VIOLENCE. The Festival will also feature the North American Premiere of Johanna Moder’s paranoid motherhood horror film MOTHER’S BABY. Other highlights include Avalon Fast’s mesmerizing sophomore feature CAMP as the festival’s Centerpiece Film.

This year’s Closing Night feature is the ultra violent and fast-paced KARMADONNA from director Aleksandar Radivojevic. Additional highlights include horror/sci-fi icon Bryan Fuller’s weird and whimsical new feature DUST BUNNY; Kenichi Ugana’s strange and disturbing new feature INCOMPLETE CHAIRS; a screening of the first three episodes from season two of THE CREEP TAPES; alumni Alice Maio Mackay’s latest feature THE SERPENT’S SKIN; Robbie Banfitch’s latest found footage feature TINSMAN ROAD; and Julie Pacino’s fever dream I LIVE HERE NOW.

The festival’s signature sidebar programs return, starting with FEAR IN FOCUS: BLACK HORROR, which includes the North American premiere of James Ross’s PARASOMNIA, as well as retro screenings of DEF BY TEMPTATION and BUGGED! There will also be a sidebar for ZOMBIES!, which includes the 1974 blaxploitation film SUGAR HILL screening on 35mm, a 4K restoration of BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR in honor of its 35th anniversary, and the theatrical premiere of the uncut version of Tom Savini’s remake of the George A. Romero classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Animated horror gets a spotlight with DRAWING ON FEAR, featuring a trio of heavy-hitters: the 1973 Japanese masterpiece BELLADONNA OF SADNESS; the 1981 cult classic anthology film HEAVY METAL; and the remarkable Czechoslovakian stop-motion dark fantasy THE PIED PIPER.

The Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies will also return with a pair of special lectures: “Excessive Life: The Uncanny Vitality of the Zombie” from David Bering-Porter, an Assistant Professor at The New School, and “On Becoming a Horrifying Woman: Psychedelic Horror, Women’s Empowerment, and BELLADONNA OF SADNESS” from That Very Witch: Fear, Feminism and the American Witch Film author Payton McCarty-Simas.

Audiences are also in for a jaw-dropping lineup of films and events, including a special screening of Ernest Dickerson’s cult classic TALES FROM THE CRYPT PRESENTS: DEMON KNIGHT with the Leviathan Award Ceremony, honoring his film career.

Festival badges are on sale now here and a limited amount of individual tickets go on sale this Friday at 12PM EST. Read the full program lineup here.

Rob Zombie & Sheri Moon Zombie Doing Live Q&A at ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ Screening in CT!

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Rob Zombie’s masterpiece The Devil’s Rejects, and the film is headed back to theaters as part of the celebration this coming October.

Those nationwide screenings will be taking place on October 6 and October 8, but horror fans in Connecticut are getting a very special treat a little bit later in the month.

Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon Zombie will be making an appearance at a 20th anniversary screening on The Devil’s Rejects at the Bantam Cinema & Arts Center in Bantam, CT on Thursday, October 16, with both Zombies taking part in a live Q&A following the movie!

Rob Zombie writes on Instagram, “screenings at 7:30 and 8:15 will both be followed by a live Q&A.” Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 12, at BantamCinema.org!

Picking up where House of 1000 Corpses left off, The Devil’s Rejects begins with revenge-crazed Sheriff Wydell and his men surrounding the Fireflys’ homestead, guns blazing — but when the smoke clears, Otis and his sister, Baby, have managed to escape. Taking refuge — and hostages — in a back-road motel, the most-wanted siblings rendezvous with their deranged partner in crime, Captain Spaulding, killing whoever happens to stand in their way.

But as the body count mounts higher, Sheriff Wydell decides to “cross the line” and take the law into his own hands, paving the way for one of the most terrifying, mayhem-filled showdowns in cinematic history.

Starring Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, William Forsythe, and Leslie EasterbrookThe Devil’s Rejects is a visceral descent into outlaw horror that has earned its place as a genre-defining cult favorite.
