While we wait for The Strangers: Chapter 2 this coming September, Lionsgate has released a series of nine motion posters this afternoon that ponder one terrifying question: “If anyone can be a Stranger, who can you trust?” Pin-Up Girl, Scarecrow, and Dollface are back in the upcoming Chapter 2, which promises to peel back layers without giving away too much.

But first, you’ll have to figure out who they even are…

Just over one year after The Strangers: Chapter 1 kickstarted a new trilogy of terror tales, Lionsgate is getting set to unleash The Strangers: Chapter 2 in theaters on September 26.

Here’s the official synopsis: “The Strangers are back – more brutal and relentless than ever. When they learn that one of their victims, Maya (Madelaine Petsch), is still alive, they return to finish what they’ve started. With nowhere to run and no one to trust, Maya must survive another horrific chapter of terror as The Strangers – driven by a senseless, unceasing purpose – pursue her, more than willing to kill anyone who stands in their way.”

Renny Harlin (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Deep Blue Sea) directed both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, as well as the upcoming The Strangers: Chapter 3.

Highland Film Group sent over the first image from the upcoming horror-comedy Lice featuring Emile Hirsch (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), who looks like he’s about to take a dip in a deep fryer.

Hirsch stars in the gruesome throwback to ‘80s high school classics with Justin Long (Barbarian) and Kevin Connolly (“Entourage”).

A gruesome death. A sealed-off high school. Something crawling beneath the skin. When a student’s terrifying breakdown shocks a classroom, an almost invisible parasite spreads through the halls, instantly twisting teens into maniacs. Locked inside with no escape, students and staff spiral into violence and hysteria.

Amid the chaos, Principal Van (Long) struggles to maintain control, drowning his anxiety in alcohol before losing his grip on reality – and his head. Burned-out science teacher Mr. Shanker (Hirsch) steps up as the only adult trying to make sense of the madness, uncovering traces of a government experiment gone wrong.

Outside the quarantined halls, Detective Sikorski (Connolly) races to contain the outbreak before it consumes the entire town. The real horror isn’t what’s under your skin – it’s what it makes you do.

Jonathan Bensimon makes his feature directorial debut from a script by Anthony Musella and Lizze Gordon, described as “The Breakfast Club meets Lord of the Flies.”

The cast also includes Joelle Farrow (Here for Blood), Emilie Bierre (“Teacup”), and Annamarie Kasper (“Good Trouble”), the latter of whom is featured alongside Hirsch in the image below.

Connelly, Jeremy Alter (Inland Empire), and Gary Goldman (“Entourage”) produce under Connolly’s ActionPark Productions banner.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre actor Allen Danziger presents a massacre of a different kind in The WeedHacker Massacre.

The meta horror-comedy hits VOD on October 17 from Buffalo 8. Watch the trailer below.

The cast and crew of The WeedHacker Massacre boldly attempt to film their movie where a series of gruesome unsolved murders occurred 10 years ago. Bad acting, bounced payroll checks, and the masked killer’s return threaten what is surely to become their worst movie ever.

Co-created by Danziger and screenwriter Ray Spivey, the film is directed by stunt performer Jody Stelzig (Splinter, Time Trap).

Danziger also appears in the film alongside David Treviño, Molly Sakonchick, Bobbie Grace (“Fear the Walking Dead”), Sean Reyna, and Parrish Randall (Circus of the Dead).

Director Ben Leonberg’s Good Boy traps a canine protagonist inside a haunted house this coming Halloween season, and a brand new official poster will make you fear for his safety.

Good Boy releases in theaters nationwide from Independent Film Company on October 3.

In Good Boy, “A loyal dog moves to a rural family home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.”

Ben Leonberg makes his feature directorial debut from a script he co-wrote with Alex Cannon. The film stars Indy, Ben Leonberg’s real-life canine best friend, with the cast also including indie horror stalwart Larry Fessenden, Shane Jensen, and Arielle Friedman.

The horrors of AI will be unleashed upon a cast including John Travolta and Chet Hanks in the upcoming horror movie Ed, announced and detailed by Deadline this afternoon.

Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf: The Movie) has also signed on to star.

Christopher J. Scott will be directing the AI-themed horror movie.

Deadline details, “Currently in production, the film centers on a sentient AI chauffeur bot that escapes the lab and begins killing reckless drivers under the guise of public safety.

“Its grief-stricken creator must stop the carnage before the machine evolves into the embodiment of AI gone bad.”

Pangaea Studios’ Steve Greenberg said, “We’re committed to bold storytelling that mixes big ideas with real emotion. Ed is exactly the kind of cinematic risk we’re excited to take.”
