A cryptic teaser has emerged for Tinsman Road, the new found footage nightmare from The Outwaters filmmaker Robbie Banfitch, signaling a new aural nightmare ahead.

The teaser arrives ahead of the film’s screening next month at the Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival, running October 1-5. Watch below as found footage lore plays in the background of an eerie music box.

Shot entirely on gritty 4:3 Mini-DV in the backwoods of New Jersey, Tinsman Road takes the audience on an emotionally winding voyage into the wilderness of death and sorrow. The story centers on a young man as he navigates the serpentine mystery surrounding his long-missing sister and their family home.

Sorrow is terror, the poster’s tagline warns.

In addition to serving as writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and producer, Banfitch stars alongside his real-life mother, Leslie Ann Banfitch.

Salem Belladonna, Heather Middleton, Nancy Bujnowski, Keith Bixby, Margaret Bixby, Noelle Faccone, David Fekety, Eric Faccone, and Raven McFarland and round out the cast.

Tinsman Road screened earlier this year at the Unnamed Footage Festival in San Francisco, CA, and also heads to Brooklyn Horror Film Festival next month.

The film screens at PUFFX on October 3.

After releasing in theaters nationwide last month, Vietnam dinosaur movie Primitive War has set a date for VOD.

Samuel Goldwyn Films will release Primitive War on Digital and VOD on October 3 and is available to pre-order here.

Primitive War is directed by Luke Sparke and adapts author Ethan Pettus’ 2017 sci-fi military novel. Jeremy Piven (“Entourage,” Old School), Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica,” “Lucifer”), Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood,” Glorious), and Nick Wechsler (“The Boys“) headline the film.

The official synopsis: “Vietnam. 1968. A recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover they are not alone and must face the most terrifying creatures to ever walk the earth.”

Anthony Ingruber (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Aaron Glenane (Interceptor, Danger Close), Carlos Sanson Jr (Bump, Legacies), Ana Thu Nguyen (Mortal Kombat 2), Adolphus Waylee (Nautilus), Richard Brancatisano (The Messenger), Marcus Johnson (Talk to Me), and Jake Ryan (Savage, Underbelly) also star.

“Primitive War grossed over a million dollars in its limited US release with a 90% audience Popcornmeter and positive reactions across social media platforms. We’re very excited to bring this film to greater success after its ongoing theatrical run,” said SGF president Peter Goldwyn. 

Sparke added “I can’t wait for the film to be unleashed across North America digitally, so everyone has a chance to finally see it after the tiny theatrical release. The response has been amazing so far and I hope this release finds even more fans to support this crazy-bonkers-film, but one it seems people are craving right now.”

Primitive War is presented by Sparke Films in association with Let it be Entertainment and producers Carly Sparke, Carmel Imrie, Luke Sparke, Geoff Imrie, and Alex Becconsall.

Terrifier 3 actor Clint Howard previously revealed that pre-production is underway on a follow-up to the 1995 cult film Ice Cream Man, and the actor recently teased new plot details. 

Those familiar with Ice Cream Man may wonder how a sequel may be possible, considering Howard’s character, Gregory Tudor, was dismembered by his own ice cream mixer. It sounds as though the planned follow-up won’t be a direct continuation.

Speaking with Bloody FM’s Dead Meat at Halloween Horror Nights in celebration of the new Terrifier house, Howard teased that he’d be playing a new Ice Cream Man. “This ice cream man is different; there’s not a lot of children in it. And by about page 60, you’re going to start to understand why a man would put body parts in his ice cream,” Howard teases. Watch the full clip below.

Howard, who’s developing the sequel with wife Katherine Cruz and original director Norman Apstein, previously divulged to Bloody Disgusting while on the set of Terrifier 3, “It has no similarity to the first one, except that I’m getting hired to play an ice cream man. We’re going to make the movie at a modest level, so on this particular trip, Kat and I are really keeping our eyes open and seeing how the [Terrifier 3] crew is doing everything. They may not realize it, but they’re sharing information with us.”

In the original 1995 film starring David Naughton, Olivia Hussey, and Jan Michael Vincent, “Gregory (Clint Howard), the local ice cream man, just wants people to be nice to him and to sell the neighborhood children his ice cream treats. Unfortunately, the adults disrespect him, and the kids fear him, so, as any recently released mental patient would do, Gregory begins brutally murdering anyone who prevents him from having a happy, happy, happy day.”

It’s also worth noting that there’s another Ice Cream Man movie on the way, but one unconnected to Howard’s feature. Eli Roth is also writing and directing an Ice Cream Man horror movie, said to be “the story of an idyllic summer town descending into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results.”

Crunchyroll has shared a behind-the-scenes featurette with the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle English dub actors, including Channing Tatum as Keizo.

The voice cast also includes Zach Aguilar as Tanjiro, Aleks Le as Zenitsu, Abby Trott as Nezuko, Bryce Papenbrook as Inosuke, Johnny Yong Bosch as Giyu, Lucien Dodge as Akaza, and Alejandro Saab as Kaigaku.

After breaking several Japanese box office records, the anime film releases in North American theaters and IMAX tomorrow, September 12, via Crunchroll and Sony.

Infinity Castle kicks off a trilogy that serves as the culmination of the anime series “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” that debuted in 2019, itself based on Koyoharu Gotoge‘s manga series published between 2016 and 2020.

Produced by “Demon Slayer” animation studio Ufotable, the film is directed by Haruo Sotozaki, who also helmed the series.

Set in Japan’s Taisho era, the movie follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who joined an organization dedicated to hunting down demons called the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko was turned into a demon.

While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades – Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Along the way, his journey has led him to fight alongside the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui within the Entertainment District, as well as Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village.

As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.

The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.

Daniel Kurland wrote in his review, “The first part in Demon Slayer’s epic Infinity Castle trilogy offers visually stunning violence and unbelievable action set-pieces, but literally nothing else.”

It was back in 2013 that James Wan unleashed The Conjuring, but not even Wan himself could’ve predicted at the time just how popular the film would become. That original movie, based on the real-life case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren, scared up $320 million at the worldwide box office, making it clear that Wan had just launched yet another hit franchise.

But again, not even Wan could’ve predicted that The Conjuring Universe would end up becoming the highest grossing franchise in the history of horror cinema. Or that The Conjuring: Last Rites, the ninth installment in the saga and the fourth (and allegedly final) in the mainline series, would debut with the highest global opening weekend for any horror movie in history.

With an HBO Max television series in development, it would seem that the sky truly is the limit for this particular franchise universe. And with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s Ed and Lorraine Warren as the supernatural superheroes at the center of it all, it doesn’t seem out of line to call The Conjuring Universe horror’s answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

To that point, The Conjuring: Last Rites is essentially the universe’s Endgame, effectively wrapping up the Ed and Lorraine saga and (seemingly) passing the torch to a new generation.

But let’s back up for a second. How did we get here? Long story short, James Wan’s original The Conjuring movie back in 2013 introduced Ed and Lorraine Warren and cracked open their case files on a terrifying note, with spinoff movie Annabelle arriving in its wake just one year later. From there, Wan returned to the director’s chair in 2016 to make The Conjuring 2, which would end up being the final movie in the universe actually directed by Wan.

The Annabelle spinoff movie got its own sequel with Annabelle: Creation in 2017, while the popularity of the Wan-created character Valak the Demonic Nun from The Conjuring 2 would get her own spinoff movie in 2018, simply titled The Nun. At the time, The Nun was the highest grossing film in the entire universe, a throne now occupied by The Conjuring: Last Rites.

Following The Nun, Annabelle returned in sequel Annabelle Comes Home, the first spinoff to heavily feature Ed and Lorraine Warren. That film set the stage for their return in earnest with The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It in 2021, a lackluster installment that nevertheless introduced a new franchise shepherd into the mix: director Michael Chaves.

Chaves also directed sequel The Nun II in 2023 and then this year’s The Conjuring: Last Rites, wherein he finally perfected the art of making, well, a James Wan movie. He also ensured that The Conjuring Universe will live on for many years to come, as the box office receipts for Last Rites already make it clear that this franchise hasn’t yet fatigued general audiences.

Oh right, The Curse of La Llorona. Released in 2019, that film was kinda-sorta the actual introduction of director Michael Chaves to The Conjuring Universe, but Warner Bros. doesn’t actually acknowledge the film as being part of the universe. Rather, its connections to the Conjuring Universe have been retroactively chalked up to little more than fun Easter Eggs.

“You can’t count it!” says producer Peter Safran. “It periodically gets lumped in because of Chaves and Atomic Monster, but it is not officially part of the universe. By the way, I think Chaves did a great job on the movie, which is why we stole him for the Conjuring universe.”

In any event, for the purposes of this article – and for our ranking of every single installment in The Conjuring Universe – we’re going to include it. Sorry, Peter Safran. We have to.

So where can you stream all NINE movies in The Conjuring Universe, while you wait to revisit The Conjuring: Last Rites when it eventually debuts at home? The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, The Curse of La Llorona, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and The Nun II are all streaming on HBO Max!
