Aurora Perrineau (Westworld, Abraham’s Boys), KJ Smith (Sistas), and Olivia Applegate (Love & Death, Organ Trail) are set to lead ROT, a visceral, female-driven psychological body-horror feature debut from writer-director Cat Del Re.

ROT is gearing up for a spring production; Cat Del Re is producing with Jessy Greer under their banner, We’re There Films. 

Set against an intimate, grounded backdrop, ROT follows “Astrid (Perrineau), a woman whose body begins to turn against her in surreal, increasingly nightmarish ways as she’s forced to confront everything she’s refused to feel. Beneath the body horror is a story about shame, memory, and the terrifying, liberating act of finally telling your own truth.”

Additional casting is underway, but talent behind the camera includes cinematographer Andressa Cordeiro, VFX partners at Dexter Studios, and award-winning sound designer Rick Hromadka (The Strangers, The Wild Robot), whose collective work has been recognized by the Emmys, Grammys, and the Academy. And sound tends to be critical when it comes to getting under your skin with body horror.

“Every cinematographer dreams of a script like Cat’s, and I am super excited by her visual take on how to achieve this,” Cordeiro says. “It is bold, original, and refreshing to see such an honest story being told in such an innovative way. We are exploring ‘uncharted territory’ with ROT, and I couldn’t have asked for better guidance than Cat’s.”

That “uncharted territory“ refers to Ut-e, ROT’s original creature that’ll be realized through ambitious practical effects.

Ut-e, built in the spirit of ’80s and ’90s horror, will be brought to life on screen entirely through on-set puppetry, with five different functioning puppets designed for specific purposes and emotional ranges. The character is described as “a universal, deeply relatable presence audiences can emotionally attach to on sight—with the emotional resonance of Wall-E and the charm and generational grab of creatures like Gizmo from Gremlins. Much like how viewers connected with Wall-E despite his mechanical, nonhuman form, Ut-e is designed to evoke that same depth of feeling—only here, she’s a body part.”

That gives some insight into what’s already shaping up to be an exciting project featuring a blend of intimate psychological body horror, practical creature work, and  “a darkly comic descent into self-confrontation and rebirth.”

A priest comes to the aid of a dominatrix when she accidentally summons a demon in the trailer for The Demonatrix.

Hannah Fierman (V/H/S) and Aurelio Voltaire (The Velocipastor) star with Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), Larry Fessenden (You’re Next), and Nivek Ogre (Repo! The Genetic Opera) as the demon.

Featuring special makeup effects by Norman Cabrera (Hellboy, The Cabin in the Woods), the indie horror film is written and directed by Voltaire and Jeff Ferrell.

It follows Lita (Fierman), a dominatrix who holds a sham seance in an attempt to make extra money. When she unwittingly summons an evil incubus (Ogre), the priest who presides over the church across the street (Voltaire) along with his demonologist mentor (Bradley) mobilize in an attempt to send the demon back to Hell.

The Demonatrix will have its US premiere in New York next month before hitting the road for festivals and conventions around the country:

It’s time to venture back into the fog: the official trailer for Return to Silent Hill, from returning director Christophe Gans, has arrived today.

Return to Silent Hill releases in theaters January 2026 from Cineverse & Bloody Disgusting.

The upcoming movie brings the iconic horror franchise back to the big screen. When James receives a mysterious letter from his lost love, Mary, he is drawn to Silent Hill—a once-familiar town now consumed by darkness. As he searches for her, James faces monstrous creatures and unravels a terrifying truth that will push him to the edge of his sanity.

Jeremy Irvine is James, alongside Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary Crane.

Also starring in Return to Silent Hill? Evie Templeton (Wednesday), reprising her role as Laura; Templeton previously provided the voice and motion capture for Laura in Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake.

Christophe Gans, who also directed the 2006 feature film adaptation of Silent Hill, wrote the script for the new movie alongside Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider.

The film’s score is composed by the legendary Akira Yamaoka, who, of course, scored and provided the memorable sound design for the original video games in Konami’s franchise.

Watch the trailer below, which indicates a journey much more faithful to the original game than Gans’ previous visit to Silent Hill.

Emma Tammi returns to direct the sequel from a script by Five Nights at Freddy’s video game creator Scott Cawthon, who co-wrote the first film.

One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest.

Former security guard Mike and police officer Vanessa have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby, concerning the fate of her animatronic friends.

But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Theodus Crane, Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, and Megan Fox round out the cast.

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop once again designed the animatronics for the film.

Cawthon produces alongside Jason Blum. Executive producers include Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder, and Marc Mostman.

“Mindhunter” star Holt McCallany will hunt a new killer in Paradise: Disturbed, Deadline reports.

Zak Steiner (“Euphoria”) and Lily Donoghue (Black Christmas 2019) also star in the thriller, which is currently in production in Savannah, Georgia.

James Khanlarian is directing from a script he co-wrote with Peter A. Couture, based on the 2018 novel of the same name by James Robert Fuller.

In the film, when a series of ritualistic murders begins targeting a tight-knit golf group, retired OSI investigator Ron Lee (McCallany) is forced to confront a brilliant and taunting killer — while his partner Tim Pond (Steiner) fights to keep him from unraveling.

The ensemble cast also includes Pat Healy (The Innkeepers), D.W. Moffett (“Friday Night Lights”), Xander Berkeley (Candyman), Cat Kaylin, Mary Pumper, Nadia Gray, and Sara Yigin.

Khanlarian and Couture are producing alongside April Aguilera and Lawrence Mortorff (Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth).
