Two nuns will put their souls at risk when they violate the Church’s order in the Korean exorcism horror movie Dark Nuns, and it’s set to open in US theaters this week after topping the South Korean box office upon release just over a week ago.

Well Go USA releases Dark Nuns in theaters this Friday, February 7, 2025.

In Dark Nuns, “After learning that the priest cannot arrive in time to save a young boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit, two nuns take on the dangerous forbidden exorcism ritual themselves in direct violation of the Church’s sacred order—putting both their lives and their immortal souls in grave danger.”

Song Hye-Kyo, Jeon Yeo-Been, Lee Jin-Wook (“Squid Game”, “Sweet Home“), and Moon Woo-Jin star.

Dark Nuns is directed by Kwon Hyeok-Jae. The supernatural thriller is a spinoff to the 2015 horror film, The Priests, which centered around “A young girl is possessed by one of the 12 manifestations of evil after a hit and run accident. Father Kim and a young rebellious seminarian conduct one last exorcism to free her from the demon’s powerful reach. They all must battle within their dark inner past in order to save themselves and the world around them.” 

While The Priests isn’t currently available to stream stateside, Dark Nuns isn’t a direct sequel and follows a different story and characters.

Well Go USA is also behind the stateside release of Korean horror hit Exhuma, which blended exorcism and shamanism to thrilling releases. Will Dark Nuns follow suit? We’ll find out when the film releases this week.

From Hewes Pictures, the Steamboat Willie-inspired slasher movie I Heart Willie is beating the David Howard Thornton-starring Screamboat to the big screen, coming exclusively to theaters across North America for one night only on February 26, 2025.

Collider debuted the trailer for I Heart Willie this afternoon. Watch it below.

Directed by Alejandro G. Alegre, “this chilling origin story presents genre fans with a sinister reimagining of one of the most iconic cartoon characters in history, along with one of the most horrifying love stories of the year.”

In the upcoming movie, “Popular YouTubers Daniel and Nico are invited to investigate a haunted property drawn by rumors of a malevolent force. The legend centers around a boy born with deformities, resembling a human-mouse hybrid, who inspired Walt Disney’s Steamboat Willie.

“Abused and isolated, the boy, now known as Willie, crafts a bodysuit from the skins of trespassers. Over the years, his gruesome legacy fades into folklore—until a series of disappearances sparks renewed interest. As Daniel and Nico set up for a night of thrills, they unknowingly step into a deadly game of survival.”

Produced by longtime collaborators Princeton Holt (2050) and David Vaughn (American Rust), the film was written by Vaughn, who also stars as Willie. I Heart Willie also features performances by Maya Luna, Micho Camacho, Sergio Rogalto, and Daniela Porras.

The list of potential Ghostface suspects and victims grows, as Deadline reports that Ethan Embry has joined the cast of Scream 7.

Legacy cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown are set to return in the sequel, which is currently in production in Atlanta.

Isabel May plays Sidney’s daughter. Other franchise newcomers include Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, and Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband.

Kevin Williamson, writer of the original Scream as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, is directing the latest installment from a script by Guy Busick, who penned Scream 5 and Scream 6.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, of course, but the latest installment in slasher saga is expected to bring the focus back onto Sidney and her family.

Scream 7 is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.

Best known for ’90s comedies Empire Records, Can’t Hardly Wait, and That Thing You Do, Embry’s genre credits include The Devil’s Candy, Cheap Thrills, Vacancy, Disturbing Behavior, “Masters of Horror,” and “The Walking Dead.”

When the mysterious woman in the room next door disappears, a debonair 70-year-old ex-spy living in a luxury hotel on the Côte d’Azur is confronted by the demons and darlings of a lurid past in which moviemaking, memories and madness collide.

Fabio Testi (What Have You Done to Solange?), Yannick Renier, Koen De Bouw (Loft), Maria de Medeiros (Pulp Fiction), and Thi Mai Nguyen star.

The mystery action thriller will have its world premiere in competition at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival later this month.

Italian sales company True Colours acquired the worldwide rights to the film last year. Keep an eye out for US release details.

Reflection in a Dead Diamond is an international co-production between Belgium’s Kozak Films and Savage Film, Luxembourg’s Les Films Fauves, Italy’s Dandy Projects from Italy, and France’s Tobina Film and To Be Continued.

Joey Lauren Adams (Animal, Chasing Amy), Chevy Chase (“Community”), and Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight) are set to star in writer/director Nyle Cavazos Garcia’s CATnip, a holiday horror thriller involving a horde of feral cats, Deadline reports today.

The indie horror thriller with comedic elements follows as “a struggling family’s fresh start in a run-down apartment building turns into a fight for survival as a horde of feral cats unleashes terror, revealing the dark and deadly horrors lurking within its walls.”

It also happens to be set over Christmas Eve.

It sounds like the apartment building is already stacked, too. The cast also includes Jake Busey, Geoffrey Arend, Keli Price, Lorelei Linklater, Charlotte Kirk, Brooke Bundy, Kylee Levien, and River Jose.

The film’s successful Kickstarter campaign refers to CATnip as “Gremlins for grown-ups.”

The page also includes a longer synopsis that reads, “The Betancourt family has just moved from the projects of New York City to an up-and-coming neighborhood in San Pedro, CA, hoping for a fresh start and better life. Immediately, they feel like outcasts and are not welcomed by their eclectic neighbors as they had hoped. A thick, dangerous fog from LA Harbor forces everybody to stay indoors on Christmas Eve, and things go quickly from bad to worse when the apartment building is overtaken by a horde of blood-thirsty, feral killer cats. Now the family and their new neighbors must band together and overcome their differences if they are going to fend off the cats and survive until Christmas morning.”

Keli Price is producing under his Price Productions banner, along with Garcia under his Small Town Pictures banner, with Javier C. Ortiz and Amado DeHoyos executive producing.

Universal and Blumhouse brought a big surprise to the Grammys tonight, debuting the first official teaser for M3GAN 2.0, which is slaying its way into theaters on June 27, 2025.

The murderous doll who captivated pop culture in 2023 is back.

And this time she’s not alone….

The original creative team behind that phenomenon—led by horror titans James Wan for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and director Gerard Johnstone—reboot an all-new wild chapter in A.I. mayhem with M3GAN 2.0.

“Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules.

“Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around.

“With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.”

The upcoming horror sequel co-stars returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp and Jemaine Clement.

Akela Cooper (Malignant, M3GAN) returned to write the script.

Blumhouse’s M3GAN franchise will expand with the upcoming sequel as well as a spinoff movie titled SOULM8TE, which is being directed by Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother).

SOULM8TE is being billed as a ’90s-style erotic thriller with a “new technological twist,” and it’s coming to theaters on January 2, 2026 – just six months after M3GAN’s return.
