Hollywood comes home when MaXXXine arrives on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on October 8 from Lionsgate in association with A24.

Writer-director Ti West brings his trilogy — which began with X and continued with Pearl — to a close with Mia Goth once again in the lead.

Set in 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx (Goth) finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.

The ensemble cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, with Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Ti West continues his knack for painstaking recreation here, not just meticulously recreating the vibe of the era but its filmic output as well. That means, like the sleazy gialli and Brian De Palma-style thrillers of the period, MaXXXine quickly cycles through the set pieces and its characters like surfing through cable channels.”

The next film from director Alexandre Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D, Crawl), Never Let Go has received a brand new trailer from Lionsgate this afternoon.

Never Let Go arrives in theaters September 20, 2024.

Academy Award winner Halle Berry is leading the film’s cast.

Percy Daggs IV (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) and Anthony B. Jenkins (Florida Man) will star alongside Berry in Never Let Go. Check out the film’s official poster below.

The upcoming Lionsgate horror film follows a mother (Berry) and her fraternal twin sons (Daggs and Jenkins) who have been tormented by an evil spirit for years and are convinced to never let go of their family’s protective bond. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, their connection is severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.

Aja is directing from a script by Kevin Coughlin & Ryan Grassby. The film will be produced by 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine (“Stranger Things”).

Lionsgate presents, in association with Media Capital Technologies, a 21 Laps production.

The 60-minute found footage horror short Milk & Serial is making huge waves here in the horror community, already approaching half a million views since being uploaded just two weeks ago by the channel That’s a Bad Idea, an up-and-coming comedy duo made up of film-school-pals-turned-collaborators Curry Barker and Cooper Tomlinson.

The short film was made for just $800 and opted for a direct-to-YouTube release versus a more traditional release with a more traditional distributor, with the channel’s 600,000+ subscribers spreading it far and wide across the internet. Milk & Serial follows in the wake of the duo’s The Chair, a previous horror short that similarly went viral and passed 5 million views.

Needless to say, Barker and Tomlinson know what the hell they’re doing in the horror space. And in a chat with Variety this week, they tease that another horror movie is now in the works.

The title? Obsession.

“It’s horror — completely horror,” Barker teases. “It’s terrifying. It’s going to be insane. This movie is unlike anything I think anyone’s ever seen. It’s so different from Milk & Serial … I’m not in it and it will not be a found footage movie. It’ll be shot more like The Chair.”

Barker notes in the same interview that he “worked on this script for over eight months back and forth,” and he’s partnered with Tea Shop Productions (47 Meters Down) on the project.

It’s hard to believe but we’re just four months away from Christmas, which means we’re just four months away from Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, releasing on December 25, 2024.

Bill Skarsgård is playing Nosferatu/Count Orlok in the film.

“Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.”

Willem Dafoe, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin and Lily-Rose Depp also star alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter), Simon McBurney and Ralph Ineson.

Eggers (The Witch, The Northman) directs and he wrote the script. Eggers also serves as a producer alongside Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham. 

F.W. Murnau directed the original 1922 version of Nosferatu, while fellow German filmmaker Werner Herzog notably directed his own version of the classic tale back in 1979.

The 1922 silent movie followed the vampire Count Orlok, who wants to buy a house in Germany and becomes enamored with the real-estate agent’s wife. It was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” which almost led to all copies being destroyed.
