Diane Lane (Unfaithful) has been cast in Mike Flanagan’s new take on The Exorcist.

The Academy Award nominee will star alongside Scarlett Johansson and Jacobi Jupe (Hamnet) in the film, due out on March 12, 2027 via Universal.

Flanagan — the visionary behind “The Haunting of Hill House,” “Midnight Mass,“ and Doctor Sleep — is writing and directing the all-new story set in The Exorcist universe.

Plot details remain under wraps, but the film is neither a remake of William Friedkin’s 1974 horror classic nor a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer.

Flanagan is producing via his Red Room Pictures banner alongside Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment.

Executive producers include Red Room’s Alexandra Magistro and Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek.

“This is an opportunity to do something that I believe has never been done within the franchise — something that honors what came before it but isn’t built on nostalgia,“ Flanagan said of the project. “I really just saw an opportunity to make the scariest movie I’ve ever made. I know expectations are high. No one’s more intimidated than I am.”

The Exorcist is gearing up to enter production in New York City in the spring.

Samara Weaving is back in Radio Silence’s sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and we’ve learned tonight that the wait for the film’s release has just gotten an entire week shorter.

Originally set for release on March 27, the very same day as the seemingly quite similar action-horror movie They Will Kill You, Ready or Not 2 will now release March 20, 2026.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come starring Samara Weaving has received an R rating from the MPA for “strong bloody violence, gore, pervasive language, and brief drug use.”

Kathryn Newton also stars in the sequel from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, and writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.

Picking up moments after the all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace (Samara Weaving) discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world.

Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all…

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne round out the cast.

While you wait, a massive Scream 7 billboard has appeared in Los Angeles today, and we have the Twitter account @EpicFilmGuys to thank for sharing a photo this afternoon.

The latest Ghostface looms large over Los Angeles on the billboard, the mysterious character set against a fiery backdrop. The film’s tagline is also featured: “Burn it all down.”

The brand new installment in the slasher saga hits theaters — including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and other premium large formats — on February 27 via Paramount.

Neve Campbell returns alongside franchise veterans Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

They introduce Dafne Keen (Logan) as Chrys Willet, Sophie Nélisse (“Yellowjackets”) Ellie Gains, Sky Yang (Rebel Moon) as Rel Taylor, Jhaleil Swaby (“Supergirl”) as Dean Jackson, and Ali Skovbye (“Firefly Lane”) as Grace Browning.

Who’s most likely to blow the cursed whistle? Find out when the film hits theaters on February 6 via Independent Film Company and Shudder.

It follows a misfit group of unwitting high school students who stumble upon an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. Soon, they discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down.

As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the cursed artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.

Corin Hardy (The Nun) directs from a script by Owen Egerton (Blood Fest), based on his own short story.

Percy Hynes White (“Wednesday”), Michelle Fairley (“Game of Thrones”), and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) also appear in the film.

David Gross (Room), Whitney Brown (The First Omen), Macdara Kelleher (Evil Dead Rise), and John Keville (Evil Dead Rise) produce. John Friedberg (Longlegs) is among the executive producers.

Whistle is rated R for “strong violent content, gore, drug content, and some language.”

Fresh off its world premiere at Sundance on Friday, Neon has entered into talks to acquire the Australia queer horror film Leviticus.

Deadline reports that the deal is worth around $5 million for the global rights, sans Australia and New Zealand.

Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and Stacy Clausen play star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.

Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak) co-stars, marking her return to the screen after a three-year break, alongside Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Davida McKenzie (Silent Night).

Writer-director Adrian Chiarella makes his feature debut on the project. Samantha Jennings (Talk to Me, Bring Her Back), Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook, Talk to Me), and Hannah Ngo produce.

“Leviticus is a strong debut with an incisive voice at the helm,” Meagan Navarro wrote in her review out of Sundance. “We care deeply about Naim and Ryan’s survival, making Leviticus a tense, atmospheric, and claustrophobic vision of young love in a hateful world.”
