There’s no hope, no mercy, and no turning back in the trailer for Killing Faith.

The genre-bending supernatural western opens in theaters on October 3 from Shout Studios.

Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World Dominion), and Bill Pullman (Independence Day) star in a haunting exploration of belief and fear—and the lengths one will go to protect a child the world believes is cursed.

Set against the plague-ravaged deserts of the 1849 Arizona territory, the film journeys through the American West — consumed by sickness, violence, and whispers of something darker — to a land of deliverance.

Ned Crowley writes and directs.

Raoul Max Trujillo (Sicario), Jamie Neumann (“The Deuce”), Jack Alcott (“Dexter: New Blood”), Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner), and Emily Ford (“Outer Range”) round out the cast.

It was reported back in August that Zach Cregger’s box office hit Weapons was potentially getting a prequel movie from Warner Bros. and New Line, with the project reportedly centered on the Aunt Gladys character, played by Amy Madigan. But how true were those reports? And how does Zach Cregger feel about all this? He opens up in a new chat with Fangoria.

Zach Cregger confirms to Fangoria, “It is real and I’ve been talking to Warner Bros. about it. There’s a story and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s not bullshit.”

He continues, “I was ready. I had it kind of in my pocket before the movie came out.”

While this may seem like an idea that’s completely out of left field and wildly unnecessary, it’s interesting to note that Cregger actually did cut some material from the Weapons script that would’ve delved a bit into the backstory of Aunt Gladys. It sounds like this Weapons prequel would expand upon the material that would’ve served as the film’s “Aunt Gladys” chapter.

But first up, the next film from Zach Cregger is a fresh take on the Resident Evil franchise, with Cregger directing the horror movie for theatrical release on September 18, 2026.

In the meantime, Weapons is now available on Digital at home.

The Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot had a surprise premiere as the first Fantastic Fest secret screening last night, and the reactions are filled with holiday cheer.

Written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85), the crowd-pleasing new take on the 1984 cult classic slasher has drawn comparisons to “Dexter” and Venom.

“The new Silent Night, Deadly Night more than earns its place in the world,” /Film‘s Ryan Scott wrote in the first published review. “It’s a big, crazy swing. In an era when Hollywood is so IP obsessed, even if it doesn’t all work like gangbusters, there is something refreshing about how straight-up audacious this movie ends up being.”

“Silent Night, Deadly Night absolutely sleighs!” YouTuber Cody Leach enthused. “They could have played it safe and just upped the gore but this remake takes big chances while completely preserving the spirit of the OG. Safe to say this will be a franchise best for many people.”

“Silent Night, Deadly Night had one scene that literally had people cheering,” shared film journalist Rachel Leishman. “It’s ‘Dexter’ meets Christmas and I loved it.”

Silent Night, Deadly Night opens in theaters unrated nationwide on December 12 from Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse.

In the film, “When Billy witnesses his parents’ grisly murder on Christmas Eve at the hands of Santa, it ignites a lifelong mission to spread holiday fear. Every Christmas, he dons the jolly red suit and delivers a blood-soaked massacre to feed his twisted sense of justice.”

Fresh off the film’s premiere at Fantastic Fest, the first official poster for Paramount’s Primate has been revealed this week, giving us our very first look at the movie’s killer chimp.

Meet Ben. First you’ll fall in love with him. Then he’ll tear your heart right out of your chest.

As Meagan explains in her review, “Ben is practical, spectacularly crafted by Millennium FX, and played by movement specialist Miguel Torres Umba. The chimp’s transformation from sweet pet to terrifying monster serves as the film’s biggest asset, enhanced by chilling shot composition and expert pacing that tests even the steeliest of nerves.”

“Primate may not ultimately impress for originality, but as an old school animal attack creature feature, it’s an adrenaline rush of fun,” Meagan’s review for Bloody Disgusting continues.

From Paramount’s horror label 18hz Productions, Primate is directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City).

Here’s the plot synopsis for Primate: “Home from college, Lucy reunites with family including pet chimp Ben. Ben contracts rabies during a pool party and turns aggressive. Lucy and friends barricade in pool, devising ways to survive the vicious chimp.”

Primate releases in theaters January 9, 2026.
