Those are the sage words Tony Todd imparts on the latest group of people trying to cheat death in the Final Destination Bloodlines ad below.

The late horror icon reprises his role as William Bludworth in his final big screen appearance on May 16 from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.

Directed by Zach Lipovsky & Adam Stein (Freaks), the first new Final Destination movie in 14 years will take audiences back to the beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice.

Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.

Kaitlyn Santa Juana (“The Flash”), Teo Briones (“Chucky”), Richard Harmon (“The 100”), Owen Patrick Joyner (“Julie and the Phantoms”), Rya Kihlstedt (“Dexter”), Anna Lore (“Doom Patrol”), and Brec Bassinger (“Stargirl”) star.

Guy Busick (Scream 5, Scream VI) and Lori Evans Taylor (Cellar Door) wrote the script. Franchise staples Craig Perry and Sheila Taylor produce alongside Jon Watts (Spider Man: No Way Home), who also shares story credit.

J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, the producing duo behind BoulderLight Pictures whose credits include Companion and Barbarian, are looking to deliver another twisty sci-fi thriller in Cut Outs, Deadline reports today.

Cut Outs is an original sci-fi thriller spec script by writer Isaac Louis García.

Naturally, plot details are under wraps at this time, but the expectation is that it’ll follow in the same unpredictable vein as BoulderLight’s recent genre hits. Companion, starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid, was released in January after a mysterious marketing campaign that kept things close to the vest. Zach Cregger’s feature debut, Barbarian, took a similar approach in preserving its narrative surprises before release.

The BoulderLight team is also behind Cregger’s follow-up, Weapons, releasing this summer, as well as Jaume Collet-Serra’s Play Dead and Rob Savage’s Molepeople. Not only does this signal that BoulderLight is keeping busy with their genre slate, but that their focus remains on producing original features. That makes Cut Outs instantly intriguing, even without a shred of plot details.

Cut Outs scribe García has worked in multiple writers’ rooms, including Peacock’s “Angelyne“ and J.J. Abrams’ upcoming crime thriller series “Duster.”

Tracy Rosenblum will oversee the project for BoulderLight Pictures.

Following the success of his directorial debut Monkey Man, Dev Patel will write, direct, and star in The Peasant, THR reports.

An adrenalized revenge thriller, the project is being described as having shades of Braveheart and John Wick as well as notes of King Arthur as it mashes up medieval knights with feudal India.

Set in the 1300s, it centers on a shepherd who embarks on a rage-fueled campaign against a group of mercenary knights who ransacked his community, revealing himself to be more than he seems.

Thunder Road (Monkey Man, John Wick) and Fifth Season (“Severance,” Pig) are producing with the hopes of launching a franchise.

Fifth Season initially developed the project with “Ms. Marvel” writer Will Dunn. It landed on the 2023 Black List, the annual directory of most popular unproduced screenplays.

In Patel’s hands, the setting has been changed from Italy and the character’s pope-connected backstory to an India that is colorfully vibrant and almost mystical.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review of Monkey Man, “The film introduces Patel as a strong visionary right out of the gate. There’s a profound sense of cultural identity and personality that pervades every facet of this brutal brawler, one that never forgets that character work and story are just as important to ensure the action has an impact.”

After arriving in theaters earlier this month from IFC Films and Shudder, Norwegian body horror movie The Ugly Stepsister is now making its way home courtesy of Shudder.

A twisted take on the tale of Cinderella, writer and director Emilie Blichfeldt’s critically acclaimed horror movie The Ugly Stepsister debuts on Shudder on May 9, 2025.

Shudder previews, “A biting satire and cinematically exhilarating directorial debut, The Ugly Stepsister is a timely examination of body image and beauty standards, identifying Emilie Blichfeldt as one of the most exciting new international filmmaking voices.”

The Ugly Stepsister follows Elvira (Lea Myren) as she prepares to earn the prince’s affection at any cost. In a kingdom where beauty is a brutal business, Elvira will compete with the beautiful and enchanting Agnes (Thea Sofie Loch Næss) to become the belle of the ball.

The Ugly Stepsister marks the feature debut from Norwegian writer and director Emilie Blichfeldt, and stars Lea Myren and Thea Sofie Loch Næss alongside Ane Dahl Torp.

As Meagan explains in her review, “Blichfeldt employs historically accurate medical procedures to great stomach-churning effect, delivering graphic body horror by way of unflinching surgeries and self-harm, all in the name of love. The filmmaker refuses to let her audience look away; each moment of Elvira’s ruthless metamorphosis from an awkward, ugly duckling into a poised stunner is drawn out to an unbearable degree and frequently shot in extreme closeups. Beauty is pain, and The Ugly Stepsister wants you to feel it on a visceral level.”

“It’s elegant, stylish, and gnarly,” Meagan adds in her 4-star review.

The film is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 96% Tomatometer score.
