Cineverse, a next-generation entertainment studio, has announced the “Halfway to Halloween” Spring slate of programming for its horror streaming service, SCREAMBOX.

This includes ART ATTACK! The Dissection of Terrifier 3, a behind-the-scenes film that gives fans an exclusive look into the making of box office smash, Terrifier 3, as well as the viral gut-puncher The Coffee Table, and the mysterious Project MKHEXE.

As the first full week of Spring begins, horror fans can tune to SCREAMBOX to stream new titles including:

• Art Attack: The Dissection of Terrifier 3 (now available) – Takes viewers behind the scenes of Terrifier 3, exploring its brutal effects, Art the Clown’s rise as a horror icon, and the cultural impact of the franchise. With interviews and exclusive footage, it reveals the artistry behind the chaos.
• Uncontained (now available) – A mysterious drifter struggles to protect an abandoned boy and his little sister from an infection that turns people into a feral-like state and a ruthless militia leader searching for his missing daughter.
• I Spit on Your Grave  (now available) – An aspiring writer is repeatedly assaulted, humiliated, and left for dead by four men she systematically hunts down to seek revenge.
• Growing Up With I Spit on Your Grave (premieres April 3) – Terry Zarchi’s exhaustive analysis of the history of I Spit on Your Grave is packed with never-before-seen footage.
• The Coffee Table (premieres April 11) – Jesus and Maria are a couple who have just become parents, and they decide to buy a new coffee table, a decision that will change their existence.
• Project MKHEXE (premieres April 29) – An aspiring filmmaker returns home after his younger brother’s suicide, only to discover his brother’s obsession with a malevolent conspiracy theory that threatens to destroy reality.
• Bloody Bites (new episodes every Friday in April, and June) – Streaming exclusively from Bloody Disgusting and Scotchworthy Productions, Bloody Bites is a compilation of snack-sized horror films that will terrorize, astonish, disturb, and excite genre fans across the globe.

SCREAMBOX continues to grow, with paid subscribers up 18% since Terrifier 3 joined the streaming platform in February. This growth comes following a record theatrical run, having grossed nearly $55 million at the box office — making it the top unrated U.S. release ever — as well as success as an EST/VOD and physical release.

Also available on SCREAMBOX is Terrifier 2, which continues to be one of the most popular titles, ranking as the platform’s most-watched film in 2024. You can also now stream Street Trash, Devon, Tales From the Void, Frogman, Delicate Arch, and Outwaters.

Lionsgate has pulled Saw XI from its release schedule and put The Strangers: Chapter 2 in its place, but the Saw franchise’s killer mascot, Billy the Puppet, has issued an amusing warning via THR.

Coming off of a very successful tenth installment, Saw XI was set to release on September 26, 2025, but turmoil behind the scenes has left the fate of the franchise hanging in the balance.

But horror icons never die, and rarely do their franchises, either. That’s supported by a statement from Saw’s pint-sized icon, who all but vows that the franchise will continue in some form. Billy the Puppet, via Lionsgate, told THR, “I’ve seen the rumors. They say it’s Game Over. You all should know me better than that. The game is never over.”

Saw X director Kevin Greutert was set to return to helm Saw XI. Fellow franchise alum Marcus Dunstan (The Collector, All My Friends Are Dead) co-wrote the script with creative partner Patrick Melton and previously teased an angry sequel. “We’re writing XI right now, and Kevin Greutert is returning to direct.” He stated, “That’s one where it’s got something new to say, and it’s angry.“

Melton previously hinted at the in-fighting to THR and where the sequel might head: “Saw XI may or may not be made, but we have a very timely story in it, and I hope it gets made just because of that.” 

Dunstan and Melton are longtime mainstays in the franchise, having previously written Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI and Saw 3D. Kevin Greutert directed Saw VI, Saw 3D and Saw X.

Saw X brought both Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) and Amanda (Shawnee Smith) back for a sequel cleverly set between the original film and its first sequel. The franchise’s return was a huge hit for Lionsgate, scaring up $111 million at the worldwide box office. 

That the franchise has grossed more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office since its launch in 2004 with James Wan’s Saw, it’s safe to say that it’s an important one to Lionsgate. While time will tell what happens with Saw XI, we believe Billy the Puppet. It’s not game over for Saw until he says so.

Lionsgate’s franchise reboot The Strangers: Chapter 1 kicked off a new trilogy of terror last year and is now set to continue this September with The Strangers: Chapter 2, revealed today by the film’s social media channels.

Chapter 2 is taking over the spot Lionsgate previously designated for Saw XI: September 26, 2025.

In The Strangers: Chapter 1, “After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive.”

The Strangers: Chapter 2 will continue the story of Madelaine Petsch’s character, Maya, who survived the events of The Strangers: Chapter 1.

“I promise that we’re making The Strangers—Chapter 2 as terrifying as possible, and I can’t wait to show you on September 26,” Petsch said in an announcement video.

Both upcoming sequels to Chapter 1 were filmed at the very same time by director Renny Harlin (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Deep Blue Sea).

“And movie two was nothing like movie one at all. It’s not a repeat in any way,” producer Courtney Soloman previously told BD of what to expect from the sequels. “It’s an evolution, both from the point of view of the protagonist and actually being there, if this really happened to you, we go beat by painful beat. That’s the horror. And a little glimpse further into who’s behind the mask without them ever giving a speech or us coming up with some dumb explanation.“

Harlin also revealed that characters teased in Chapter 1, like Richard Brake, will return, “Obviously, there are some interesting actors there, and the idea is to introduce the town and some of those actors we’ll see in all three movies, some of them in two, some of them only in one. But definitely, my goal was to introduce a town without, by any means, making it look like a madhouse of crazy, weird characters with interesting faces that could be completely innocent, or maybe some of them could be something more than what’s on the surface.”

Unleashed into theaters back in May, Chapter 1 wasn’t a hit with critics, but it did manage to scare up $47 million worldwide, outgrossing 2018’s The Strangers: Prey at Night ($31 million).

With The Strangers: Chapter 2 carving its way into theaters this Halloween season, that all but signals the trilogy’s conclusion should arrive in 2026.

The new poster for Freaky Tales designed by Tom Ralston reminds you to always bet on the underdog.

A pulpy blend of explosive action, edgy humor, gory kills, and sly twists, the genre-bending anthology hits theaters on April 4 from Lionsgate.

Executive produced by hip-hop pioneer Too $hort, the film is written and directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck (Captain Marvel, It’s Kind of a Funny Story).

Set in 1987 Oakland, Freaky Tales is a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters — an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector — on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles.

The ensemble cast includes Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, Normani, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, Ji-young Yoo, Angus Cloud, and Tom Hanks.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review out of Sundance, ” There’s a bombastic charm to Freaky Tales that captures the essence of ‘80s action and genre cinema in a way that few manage. Its delightfully twisted and sometimes self-indulgent humor will be off-putting for some, but those open to the concept of a genre mixtape will find themselves charmed by this distinct audio-visual take on the anthology format.”

Ralston has previously created artwork for the likes of Disney, Shout Factory, Arrow Films, IDW Publishing, and more.

Based on the true story of the possession of Emma Schmidt, David Midell directs from a script he co-wrote with Enrico Natale.

Two priests, one questioning his faith (Stevens) and one reckoning with a troubled past (Pacino), must put aside their differences to save a possessed young woman through a difficult and dangerous series of exorcisms.

The film is said to be an authentic portrayal of the Schmidt case, which remains the most thoroughly documented exorcism in American history.

Ashley Greene (Twilight), Abigail Cowen (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), and Patricia Heaton (“Everybody Loves Raymond”). round out the cast.
