Director Michael Sarnoski’s A Quiet Place: Day One is set to begin streaming exclusively on Paramount+ tomorrow, August 27, in the U.S. and Canada.

Certified Fresh with an 86% Critics Score on Rotten Tomatoes, A Quiet Place: Day One expands the franchise’s groundbreaking universe, taking fans back to the first day of the invasion by deadly creatures who hunt by sound in one of the loudest places on Earth: New York City.

Lupita Nyong’o (Us),  Joseph Quinn (“Stranger Things”), Djimon Hounsou and Alex Wolff (Hereditary) star.

In the film, “When Samira (Lupita Nyong’o) returns home to New York City, her simple trip turns into a harrowing nightmare when mysterious creatures that hunt by sound attack. Accompanied by her cat Frodo and an unexpected ally (Joseph Quinn), Samira must embark on a perilous journey through the city that has suddenly gone silent, where the only rule is to stay quiet to stay alive.”

I wrote in my review, “Instead of an apocalyptic monster movie, Sarnoski instead gifts a touching story of a woman determined to meet life on her terms. Sam’s journey is less shaped by the harrowing, intense encounters across the city and more so by the warmth and empathy from Eric and strangers like him.”

The spinoff is based on an original idea by John Krasinski and Michael Sarnoski,  based on characters created by Bryan Woods & Scott Beck, and it was written by Sarnoski. Meanwhile, it’s expected that the Abbott family storyline will become a trilogy with expectations of A Quiet Place Part III arriving next year.

John Krasinski produces alongside Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller via Platinum Dunes. A Quiet Place Part II opened to $57 million at the domestic box office in May 2021 and has earned $297 million worldwide, making it easy to see why this franchise continues to expand.

All who trick are treats in Creeping Death, the SCREAMBOX Exclusive supernatural slasher arriving on streaming September 10.

In the film, “Halloween was always Tim’s favorite holiday – until his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Now, all he wants is a quiet night in. That is quickly disrupted when his friends pay him an unwanted visit after stealing a mysterious sack from the doorstep of a local crazy.

“This sacrilegious act unleashes the Aos Si, a Celtic spirit that walks the earth on Halloween. They must band together and survive the night or make the ultimate offering… their lives.”

Writer-director Matt Sampere makes his feature debut, based on his short film of the same name. Sampere stars with Monique Parent, Alan Maxson, Delian Lincourt, Hunter Kohl, Ian Brown, Elise Rackemann, K Cody Hunt, Andy Horowitz, Jody Pucello and Scott Lea.

A callback to terrors birthed in the mythology of Halloween, Creeping Death is produced by Sampere, Jason Scott Goldberg (Glorious), Erika McGowan, Brenda Block, and Tyler Dane Sutton.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved slasher films and celebrating Halloween,” says Sampere. “I knew I wanted to dive into the holiday’s lore for my first feature, and that’s how I learned about the Aos Si — vengeful spirits related to trick or treating in Celtic mythology. Creeping Death is the first supernatural slasher to incorporate this deity. I hope viewers enjoy my love letter to Halloween, its traditions, and a warning to those who trick.”
